Hyaluronic Acid Filler
Preoperative Cautions
Before undergoing hyaluronic acid filler treatment, please note the following:
- Inform your practitioner if you are taking any medications or supplements
- Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory painkillers, ginkgo biloba, garlic, vitamin A, and vitamin E prior to treatment, as these may increase the risk of bruising
- Avoid alcohol, smoking, and hot or spicy foods before the procedure
- Do not proceed with treatment if there is active infection, inflammation, or open wounds in the treatment area
- Follow all pre-treatment advice provided by your practitioner to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
Postoperative Cautions & Care
Proper aftercare is essential to support healing and reduce the risk of complications.
- Do not apply heat to the injection site
- Do not wear makeup on the day of the injection
- Avoid strenuous exercise for a short period after treatment
- Avoid alcohol, smoking, and hot or spicy foods for one week
- Avoid aggressive or irritating skincare products to prevent sensitivity and discomfort
- Within 24 hours, avoid touching the injection area; do not rub the area for one week
- Within one week, avoid sunbathing, saunas, steam rooms, laser treatments, and extremely cold environments
- After lip filler, avoid excessive touching of the lips while eating to prevent faster degradation of the filler due to temperature changes in food
- Hyaluronic acid attracts water; increase hydration and apply moisturising products or masks frequently during the first week
- If there is obvious swelling or exposure, medical tape may be used to protect the area and reduce the risk of infection
Common Reactions
The following reactions are common and usually temporary after hyaluronic acid filler treatment:
- Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site
- Temporary bruising
- Sensitivity or discomfort when touching the treated area
- A feeling of tightness or firmness in the treated area during early recovery
- Gradual softening and settling of the filler as the area heals
If symptoms worsen, persist longer than expected, or if you experience severe pain or unusual changes, please contact the clinic promptly.
